Man in the mirror

by Rana

Perceptions are neither tied up nor free for life in any form of emotion
Dreams are truer awake than eyes shut within the storms in curiosity

From the perspective of keeping me alive, I know only the discipline of the battlefield
Warrior says the wind to the rocks beyond the ocean as I speak to them with audacity

Fear that wears horns of power knocks my door everyday challenging my existence
For all the courage that I hold, which conquers freedoms that had been unknown to reality

Thus for whom must I fight? For what do I doom to be present in the present day
Riddled in this maze, depleting the rest of my days to disappear at this velocity

It is the man in the mirror I am endeavoring to defeat; it is me against me, the challenger
I am more promising than yesterday, and tomorrow is what I am after in all its ferocity
