He wouldn’t wait any longer to show everyone that those light wings were meant to fly. He took a run-up and a deep breath. Upon jumping, his head went wild remembering a thousand unsuccessful inventions, so many different paths to failure –way beyond reckoning–. Until today.
However, something seemed to go wrong: he was falling; losing altitude altogether too quickly. One gloomy thought crossed his mind: he could feel them double their bets for him to knock himself over. Yet, when he was just about to kiss the canvas, the whole set-up started to glide. Crowds down below began to frown, baffled, as he rose in the air.
The great city shrank behind; he overflew a blue sea. His design would not contemplate landing though. Not that it was necessary.
